Going Home?
Our doctor tells us that if Brennan continues to do well today and has good labs in the morning that we can go home tomorrow!!! We are surprised and SO excited. He still has a long way to go, but we are so thankful to be able to continue this journey in our own home with our whole family together. Please pray for continued improvement, both here and at home. It turns out that the second scale was actually wrong - Brennan still weighs 14 pounds 6 ounces so hasn't gained weight for almost a week, but they are not worried unless he loses weight. I won't be able to monitor this as well at home, which is one of several things that will be a little stressful about not being in the hospital. There are lots of medical things that I'll have to learn when we go home, and so I'm a little nervous but just so grateful to be able to go home. He's still getting nothing by mouth, but hopefully we will start some small oral feedings on Monday. We are thrilled and so grateful to be taking our sweet baby home soon.

What great news! I am so happy that you all get to go home so soon! I'm sure that it will be so nice to all be at home and be a "family" again! If you need anything, please do not hesitate to call me! You are in my prayers!
How wonderful! I know that I can't imagine what a blessing and relief it will be to be in your own home. I will talk to you when you get home. We are still praying for you!
Yay! I am so happy for you all! This is so very awesome and exciting :) Congrats on the good news - I had so much fun seeing you and Brennan the other morning. Christa, Casey, and I miss you and are praying for continued recovery. You're appreciated and loved :)
That is great news....however things turn out at the end of the day, the doctors certainly seem to have a handle on what is best for Brennan. God is so good.
Many prayers for you as you adjust to "home care" and just to being a family at home together with two sweet babies who desperately need you for so much...and of course continued prayers for Brennan on his journey to wellness.
Praise God! I hope you're working on his discharge, even as I write this message. :) I know you are ready for life to get back to something resembling normal, and I think being at home will go a long way in that respect.

We know that the trip home is bittersweet (going home is awesome, but having all the immediate care is awesome too). While there are challenges ahead, you are such competent, loving parents doing the best that you can. I am sure Tommy is so very happy to have his baby brother and mommy and daddy home. We love you guys and are continuously praying.

Vanessa and I are pleased and relieved that Brennan is going home. We have worried about the toll this is taking on the family. But we thank God for His mercy, for the wisdom and knowledge of Brennan’s medical team, and for the friends that have worried with you. See you soon. J&V
