planning for a month...
we got the results of Brennan's endoscopy yesterday, It was what the doctor expected, but quite bad. Where Brennan should have little hairlike structures on his intestinal lining to absorb fats and proteins, it is completely smooth/flat. The doctor says these will grow back, but it will take quite some time. He tells us to plan for about a month in the hospital, but it is hard to predict until we know how well Brennan is going to tolerate the feedings into his small intestine. So far he is doing great (no stool), but he is only getting a couple of teaspoons of 1/2 strength formula every hour. This is about 10% of the way to a full feeding, which is the goal. In addition, the nutrition Brennan is receiving through his central line is causing some damage to his liver (which is also expected). This is reversible, but it is something the doctors are watching closely. So we are just praying that God will protect his other organs, and that Brennan will continue to tolerate the feedings as they slowly increase every 6 hours.

yeah-i am so glad you set this up-i will be checking everyday-glad he is tolerating some feeding but pray they will be able to continue to increase-also praying for his liver-james has had a liver problem with one of his chemos so they are watching him too-i will get greg to add brennan as one of our links on james' blog

We are praying for continued protection today and rest for you and Jeff.
Brennan is in good hands, and though the journey may seem long, he will be healed. Remember he is the hands of our creator, the Ultimate Physician! Keeping him in our prayers.
This is such a nice way to keep everyone update on what is going on. We will continue to keep Brennan in our prayers. It is such a blessing to watch you go through this journey and constantly be looking to the Lord - the ultimate Healer. Please let us know if we can do anything for you. Love, Kelly
It is so good to see little Brennan smiling. We are going to come visit soon. Max and I both have been sick and needed to wait until we were free and clear! You all are in our prayers!

It is great to see Brennan smiling. I am praying for all of you. He is a little trooper! Hopefully I can get down to the hospital this week and see you and your sweet baby!
I am reading this with tears of love in my eyes as I see our beautiful Brennan and know God's healing hand is upon him. God is so faithful in ALL our times of poor health and times of joy. How thankful we are to be in the family of God -- to experience His loving arms around us as His people pray and minister to us.
